Level 1 & 2 Infection Control
This course will give students an understanding of infection control, including how to effectively prevent and control the spread of infection, which is crucial in the workplace as we exit from the pandemic. In addition, this course will provide students with the tools to ensure the safety of individuals both in the workplace and within their personal lives concerning infection control.
With the pandemic still among us, we are all aware of how crucial infection control is in the workplace and our home environment. During this course, the instructor will teach students the legal aspects of infection control, how diseases are transmitted, how to effectively keep clean to prevent cross-contamination, look into sharps and needles & how to dispose of waste properly in different workplaces depending on the substance of garbage.

This course is a great course to enable people to work in a safe way regarding infection control.
Syllabus
A range of Infection Control related subjects are covered including:
- Legal aspects
- Disease transmission
- Hand washing & glove use
- Housekeeping
- Needles & sharps
- Waste disposal, etc.
To achieve Level 2, students must show competence in:
- Implementing infection control measures in the workplace

Certification
A Level 1 or 2 national qualification will be issued to the learner, subject to successfully completing the assessment criteria.
Assessment
The qualification is assessed through a written assessment paper and the practical demonstration.
Numbers
A minimum of 8 students and a maximum of 12 students are allowed to enrol on this course. Students must be a minimum of 14 years of age. A certificate can be offered to all, subject to assessment.
